Rory is the Lead apiary field hand at the HBRC. He starts his fourth year of undergraduate studies in Wildlife Biology at the University of Guelph in 2021. The 2021 season was Rory’s first time EVER working with bees and it has been such an incredible (and exciting) experience. Rory has a great love for insects, insect photography and the outdoors, so naturally, being able to work outside with bugs all day has been a perfect fit for him. Joining the team at the HBRC has taught him all the necessary skills needed to keep bees healthy and happy as well as so much about honey bee biology! This position has brought Rory many additional opportunities, such as chances to take photographs of the bees for the website and social media which has been his dream come true!
