This past winter, the Honey Bee Research Centre was delighted to have Melody Li, a Bachelor of Education student from Queen’s University, temporarily join our team. As a teacher candidate, she spent her time here helping us to revamp our ‘Resources for Educators’ webpage. With most of her previous experience with environmental education being more policy-focused, she found it enriching to work in a different type of environment. “I had a lot of fun, and the atmosphere and team at the HBRC were a big part of that!”
The resources that Melody has created included accessible articles outlining our research projects. She also created educational lesson plans for teachers. In addition, she has compiled a list of reputable bee and pollinator resources. Through this experience, she was able to learn a lot about all the potential resources for educators and is excited to make use of them when she teaches her own class! You can view our newly updated ‘Resources for Educators’ page here. Thank you for all your work, Melody!
