The Honey Bee Research Centre is pleased to congratulate Dr. Ernesto Guzman, who was recently recognized with two awards at the Canadian Honey Council (CHC) Bee Tech Conference in Calgary on February 12, 2026.
Dr. Guzman received the Canadian Association of Professional Apiculturists (CAPA) Past President Award from incoming CAPA President, Pierre Giovenazzo, in recognition of his many years of dedicated service as CAPA President. This volunteer role requires a significant commitment of time and leadership in support of the apicultural community.
He was also presented with the Willie Baumgartner Memorial Award by Ontario CHC representative, Albert Devries. This award is given to a member of the beekeeping community who has made an outstanding contribution in support of Canadian beekeeping.
These awards reflect Dr. Guzman’s long-standing leadership, service, and commitment to advancing apiculture in Canada. Congratulations, Ernesto, on these well-deserved honours.
