Jordan Vervaeke

Jordan Vervaeke is a student in Agriculture degree with a major in Horticulture. She is a student volunteer at the Honey Bee Research Centre once a week for the fall semester of 2025. Her interest in honey bees stems from an initial passion for sustainable agriculture, a reduction in pesticide use/negative impacts on pollinator species and the preservation of the natural environment. She’d love to have a small beekeeping operation of her own one day; the dream would be to own a horticultural crop operation and care for her own honey bees on site! In her free time she grows a variety of plants at home and like to experiment with different growing systems (lights, hydroponics, DIY greenhouses); she’d also like to try to hand at the art of bonsai. Otherwise you’ll usually find her with a book in hand or somewhere in the woods hoping to capture some wildlife photography!
